Savory “Chick-un” Broth Powder & Seasoning Mix

With this in your pantry, you’ll never run out of vegetable bouillon again! Blend up a batch of this savory herb mixture and you’ll always have the basis of vegetable broth and “chick-un-y” seasoning available to add homestyle flavor to your meatless meals. It’s easy to multiply and keeps in an airtight jar for up to 6 months, so make an extra large amount to use or to share.

1 cup nutritional yeast flakes or powder

1 1/2 Tablespoons sea salt

1 Tablespoon garlic powder

1 Tablespoon onion powder

1 Tablespoon dried parsley

1 Tablespoon dried oregano

1 Tablespoon dried basil

2 teaspoons ground black pepper

1 teaspoon dried thyme

1 teaspoon dried sage

1 teaspoon celery seed

1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika

1/4 teaspoon turmeric powder

1) Place all ingredients together in the container of a food processor or blender. Pulse several times to produce a fine powder— but be careful not to over-process.

2) Use as is to season tofu, soy curls, or vegan gravy. To make broth, add 1 Tablespoon of the mixture to 1 cup of hot water.
